Do you feel called to stand with others as a witness to the world that God is present and active in our times? If so, we invite you to consider sharing our life and community, our Providence spirituality, and our healing ministries as a Sister of Providence.

We are enriched today because of the involvement of dedicated women who chose to commit themselves as vowed members of our community. Living in a faith community has provided us with opportunities to affirm and encourage one another. Prayer grounds us and helps us believe that sometimes the impossible is possible.

As women of Providence, we give witness to the Gospel values. We strive to live together simply, sharing ministry, prayer and leisure. We care for each other, and we care for others. Our shared spirituality and goals strengthen us as we undertake our mission to bring hope and healing to a hurting world.

Novitiate Time
When a woman indicates to us that she feels a call from God to enter our community, she discerns that call with Sister Ann Horgan, our vocation director. Then, as a novice, she deepens her relationship with our community through the prayer, community life, and service opportunities we provide for her.

Vowed Life
Following her novitiate, she makes temporary vows by promising to live our way of life during a simple, but beautiful First Profession of Vows Ceremony. She then continues to participate in our formation program designed to assist her in becoming fully integrated into our community life. The time between first and final professions of vows, ranges for three to nine years. At her final vows, she promises to remain a Sister of Providence for the remainder of her life.
